UK takes hostages to quell revolt

In a stunning turn of events, the terrorist organization known as "Iceland" has rejected the completely reasonable proposal from the United Kingdom to sell the next three generations of Icelanders into slavery for the benefit of Dutch and British pensioners.

Terror master President Olafur Ragnar Grimsson, of the Icelandic Revolutionary Brigades, issued the following statement: "I have noted that a large number of people have signed a petition against the law and I have also listened to remarks made by a number of legislators during the debate."
In the face of such unreasonable hostility, Prime Minister Gordon Brown declared "we will never negotiate with terrorists", and "you are with our banks or against them", promptly ordering the UK government to take hostages as bargaining chips.
